A brilliant statesman, he guided India through challenging periods including the Second India-Pakistan War and promoting the White and Green Revolution. His iconic phrase "Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan" reminds us to respect our soldiers and farmers. It's a sentiment that still resonates with us today.Beyond his policies, his humility, integrity and selfless service to the nation serve as an eternal source of inspiration."
It is noteworthy that Lal Bahadur Shastri was the second Prime Minister of the country. After the India-Pakistan war, he had gone to Tashkent for negotiations where he was poisoned to death. He was also born on 2 October 1904 in Mughalsarai.
